- The Harmons--Ben, Vivien, and daughter Violet--move to Los Angeles and take up residence in a house rumored to be haunted, a house that has been the site of several ghastly murders. While Ben and Vivien deal with their strained relationship after Vivien's miscarriage and Ben's subsequent infidelity, Violet gets into fights at school and befriends one of her father's teenage psychiatric patients. Unknown to them, the house's ghostly residents have their own plans.
